What happened

A man had two sons. The younger son asked for his share of the inheritance, left for a distant country, and spent everything on wasteful living. A severe famine struck the land. Left with nothing, the younger son found work feeding pigs. Realizing that his father's servants had enough food, he decided to return home, confess his wrongdoing, and ask to be hired as a servant. While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him, ran to meet him, and welcomed him back with celebration.
